CARIE sponsored an Older Americans Act (OAA) Reauthorization Roundtable on June 9, 2010. Nora Dowd Eisenhower, former Pennsylvania Secretary of Aging, facilitated a discussion among 25 leading professionals in the field of aging and older adults. CARIE’s Dorothy S. Washburn Legislative Committee continued discussions at its meetings to finalize recommendations submitted to the Administration on Aging. In addition to the Older Americans Act Reauthorization Recommendations, CARIE also formally submitted its white paper about “unbefriended” people with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia.
